The National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML) provides national recognition of your development and professional achievement as a middle leader.

Middle leaders are the powerhouse of any successful school. They play a critical role in ensuring that the quality of teaching and learning meets the highest standards for every child, in every classroom. You may be a key stage, subject or curriculum leader, a pastoral leader or head of department. Whatever your role, if you have responsibility for leading a team, NPQML will help you to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge to drive successful team performance and improved classroom practice.

NPQML offers a rigorous programme of study that explores the role of middle leaders in depth. It focuses explicitly on leadership and management of a team or department, and looks at the practical strategies needed to deliver effective performance in the classroom.

To achieve the qualification, you'll need to successfully complete two essential modules and one elective module and undertake a final assessment demonstrating that you can deliver successful and sustainable school improvement.

We will be able to offer the NPQML at Trent Valley Teaching School Alliance by acting as a  hub for George Spencer Teaching School Alliance. This enables us to offer high quality, recognised leadership qualifications locally.
