Leave of absence in term-time
Parents are not entitled to remove children from the Academy for holidays as a right. Leave of absence must be applied for in writing to the Principal and the decision to authorise absence for any reason rests entirely with the Principal of the Academy.
The application should be made 4 weeks before the planned holiday is booked.
Should an absence coincide with examination periods (both external and internal) permission will not be given.
Holidays are only authorised if there are exceptional circumstances. These must be made explicit in the application.
