The contents of this poster is based on ‘Bloom’s Taxonomy of Educational Objectives’ which was written by Benjamin Bloom (an educational psychologist) in 1956. Although now ancient, it is still a brilliant tool for teachers and students! Our staff, use the verbs associated with the 6 key words of Bloom’s Taxonomy (Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Synthesis, Evaluation) to plan challenging, differentiated learning outcomes and questions for lessons. We encourage our students to use the keywords to plan questions to ask teachers, themselves and peers in the classroom. The posters below can be found in every classroom in the academy.
