Heads of Colleges

Mr R MacPherson, Head of Ash College

Rick MacPherson teaches English and leads the Y8 residential trip to Paris. Organising the trip is a massive undertaking because each student has to be allocated to a bus and a hostel room, on some days there are choices of outings so students need to be directed to the right bus. There is also the responsibility of arranging a staff duty rota - and ensuring that they all get some rest!

Miss A Leathem-Pugh, Head of Beech College

Anna Leathem-Pugh teaches Business Studies and she has been promoting Citizenship and Preparation for Working Life during the last few years. Amongst other contributions to school life she organises the annual Y9 residential trip to London.

Mr M Barr, Head of Oak College

Mark Barr teaches ICT at GCSE and A level. He has been working in a pastoral role for 7 years now, so is the most experienced member of the team.  He organises the Year 7 camp each year - a long-established feature of the Tuxford Academy experience.

Miss R Vause, Head of Willow College

Rachel Vause teaches French and German and after having been on the trip for several years she is leading the French Residential to Paris with Rick MacPherson. The trip is one that is remembered by all that go on it and regularly features in the Year 11 Year Book as a favourite memory.
